How Do You Say Cheese in French?

How Do You Say Cheese in French?

This is an interesting question whether it is asked in French, Spanish, Italian or Japanese.  As the Internet becomes the new financial market place and global networking is the order of the day, questions like Who Moved My Cheese? Or in French “Qui A déplacé Mon Fromage? are becoming increasingly important. It is not so much what you know but rather who you know and how much you know about their culture and interests.

How do you say cheese in French, is a very simple illustration of day to day concepts that are worth reviewing.  One of the worst gestures possible in business is to mutilate the pronunciation of a client's name or to attempt to speak to them in their own language and botch the accent, or worse yet accidentally say something that is not said in polite society. What was once seen as a kind gesture now rests between mockery and foolishness.

Knowing how to say cheese in French may not seem a deal breaker, but the reality is learning a foreign language opens up a whole new avenue of opportunity.  A bi-lingual person with less experience in a certain field is more likely to get the job than a person who has a few more skills but can only communicate to one demographic.

America has always been a melting pot, but with the daily integration of the web breaking down the barriers of geography and language the heat is on.
