eLearning Pros and Cons
eLearning Pros and Cons?
After the initial hesitations, eLearning is now being accepted as a highly effective method of learning. In fact there are number of leaders who believe that the learning outcomes of online education and distance learning are much better than the live face-to-face teaching methodology.
The greatest benefit of the eLearning is that the students don’t have to spend time commuting to the classroom and don’t have to attend the class at fixed time. The eLearning class is often a downloadable session available on the website of the online college. This session can be attended at any time and from any place in the world. Some programs have certain live sessions also, but if you are busy at that time, the recorded version is always there for you to use.
When taking online courses, you don’t have to give up your job or make any adjustments in your schedule, leaving you the freedom to meet your family and career obligations and continue earning a living.
Some online Universities and Colleges have gained great reputation, or are schools who are already well respected and are offering the exact same curriculum online as on camplus. Thus you can enjoy the benefits and privileges of being graduated from a top institution.
While doing self-study the student becomes more self-dependent in their studies as well as in their practical life. You can pace the class according to your convenience.
When you do decide to take an online course, you will need to have all the necessary equipment available to you such as a computer, and a good Internet connection. To gain actual benefits the student should schedule their time effectively.
Of course the greatest disadvantage of eLearning is the lack of one-to-one interaction with the professors in some programs, and the lack of social interaction with other students. However, there are programs that have met this challenge and offer regular interaction with professors, tutors, and other students - for those prospective students for which this is important. Other students do not have this particualr need, and flourish in the eLearning environment.
To gain many things in life one may have to sacrifice or ignore other things in the larger interest of the person. I would recommend you to set your priorities and let them direct you. But act, don’t remain inactive.
